Three promises.

Two lives on the edge.

One undeniable love.

Everything attorney Julia Branholt has worked for is about to tank thanks to one stubborn, bull-headed pirate named Hakon "Hawk" Thoralssen. It's not enough that she's forced to take him on as yet another pro bono case, but someone bails the man out in her name. This ethical nightmare could mean disbarment...and the end to a promise she made her father. So Julia goes rogue and follows Hawk.

When sabotage threatens to destroy the home of his late wife, Hawk rushes to save the village. He didn't bargain on a hot-tempered attorney following him. Especially not one who fills him with a heat he's chosen to deny.

The only way to save Tierra Bonita means working together. Can this village of kind-hearted, affectionate people draw Hawk and Julia out of their self-imposed isolation and open their hearts to new promises?

5 Delightful Divas from Dark Diva Reviews!

Shelly at Dark Diva Reviews had this to say about Pirate's Promise:

Dark Diva Reviews

"Pirate's Promise is another great read from Laurie Ryan and is the sequel to Stolen Treasures. I couldn't put it down because it had romance, suspense, and a sexy hero...that's like icing on an already delicious cake!

Hawk and Julia would appear to be a mismatched couple, but Laurie Ryan wove the pair together so smoothly I was amazed. Her writing flows beautifully and appears effortless. There is an abundance of sexual tension that keeps you just as "on edge" as the characters. I didn't think it lacked anything and I thought it was very well written.

When I read Stolen Treasures, I knew that I just had to read the sequel, Pirate's Promise. I'm so happy I did! Both books went well together, but can also stand alone with no problem whatsoever.

This is only the second book I've read from Laurie Ryan, but I hope to read many more. Her stories are pleasantly romantic, full of adventure, and a whole lot of fun! I highly recommend Pirate's Promise by Laurie Ryan!"

"So," Gail started. "You and your pirate are getting pretty cozy."

The flush crept up Julia's neck inch by inch until her entire face felt like she was having a personal summer. She busied herself with plates, jam, butter and the other trimmings needed for breakfast and prayed her voice sounded steadier than the staccato she heard. "Not at all. He's simply staying here until his legal issues are resolved. It was the only way I could keep an eye on him," she finished, fully aware of how lame the excuse sounded.

Gail chortled with laughter. "Bull! Honey, anyone with even an ounce of intuition can see you two are smitten. And probably were a lot more than smitten last night!"

Julia whirled to make sure Hawk wasn't in the doorway. "Gail!"

Her friend stood and placed a hand on each of Julia's shoulders. "Look. I know there are risks here. But it's wonderful to see you focused on something other than work. It's been a long time coming. So stop worrying about it and just enjoy the moment, okay?" Tears formed in Julia's eyes as Gail hugged her. "Ah, Gail. I've missed you."

"Mind if I join in the fun?" Hawk walked in, arms akimbo, apparently intent on making good on his request.

Just then, the oven timer went off.

"Too late," Julia said, turning to deal with the cinnamon rolls.

"Damn," Gail said.

Hawk wrapped Julia in an embrace. "It's good to see you laugh."

"Hawk, please," she said, squirming. "Gail's here."

He held on a moment longer, then let her off the hook.

"Coffee." He spun around. "I smell coffee." He poured himself a cup, then turned and leaned against the counter as if today was just like any other day.

Julia turned with the cinnamon rolls and almost dropped them as her mouth went slack. Fresh from a shower, Hawk's damp blond hair hung loose over a shirtless chest. Muscles rippled as he set his mug down and settled his hands on the counter behind him, amplifying the six-pack abs and trim waist. He'd put on his khaki shorts, thank God. Then she realized the top button was undone...again. It took every ounce of strength Julia had to keep from dragging him back to her bedroom to rip those shorts off.

Julia remembered Gail and turned to her friend, who ogled Hawk with totally undisguised interest. Julia's libido beat a hasty retreat, and she slapped the cinnamon rolls on the table, causing them both to jump.

"Go put some clothes on, Hawk."

He grinned and left the room without comment.

Julia scowled at Gail. "Close your mouth. You look like an idiot."

Gail's eyebrows arched a couple notches as she reached for her coffee. "I wasn't the only one," she said.
